back in town

hi all,
i'm just back from a one week vacation in Morocco.
this country is simply amazing.it was my fifth time there and if any of you guys,ever get a chance to make it there...just don't even hesitate a single second.
great music there as well.evrybody can play percussions!!!
from the little kid to the oldest man [img]biggrin.gif[/img]
and man...they can groove!!!6/8 to the max!!
i play a lot of those grooves which can be really challenging sometimes.
but when the average Moroccan guy starts playing a traditionnal groove,it makes you feel like an absolute beginner.like,where's the damn one??!!
no count offs,weirds calls for changes within a song that only natives can know and on and on... [img]eek.gif[/img]

even Vinnie would be in astate of shock!!! [img]wink.gif[/img]


this trip gave me great inspiration and we,musicians or artists need to travel and dive deep into other cultures to enrich ourselves right???

but i assume it's not always easy to do it when you're on tour ,going from places to places ,on a fast pace.


anyways,i got home and found some new cd's in my mailbox. [img]tongue.gif[/img]


all of them feature "Professor V." and i can't wait to check 'em out:

Welcome back, glad you had a nice trip! Isn't it inspiring to get out (if you can) of your little box and explore other cultures! When you're open to it, it can be really musically stimulating. [img]biggrin.gif[/img]

when i get a chance to travel,it makes me feel like i'm a real "citizen of the world" so to speak.
there's so much to discover out there that it's almost scary. [img]wink.gif[/img]

makes me all the more angry and upset when i think of the war striking almost everywhere nowadays.

can we,drummers,do something about it??

Actually concerning the war issue, Drummers in Copenhagen gathered at our Townhall Square for a "Drumming for Peace" event. couple a months ago if i remember right.
